  • Manage environmental programs for the Company
  • Responsible for setting up environmental management plans for projects carried out by the company in Sri Lanka and overseas
  • Ensure Fabric Park at Thulhiriya is developed in an environmentally sustainable manner with minimum impact to the surrounding environment
  • Ensure all designs, developments, emissions conform to environmental regulations applicable to the given country
  • Ensure the company is functioning as a environmentally and socially responsible entity in the corporate sector
  • Report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Thulhiriya Fabric Park. You will also report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company on matters related to environmental programs for the overall group

 
  • BSc. in Engineering or Science and a MSc. in Environmental Management/Environmental Engineering/Environmental Sciences
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar capacity
  • A passion and knowledge in promoting sustainable practices in an industrial setting
  • A thorough understanding of the environmental regulations and related agencies
  • Knowledge of environmental friendly technological solutions
  • A working knowledge of ISO Standards and LEED  Certification
  • Strong presentation & communication skills

Scope

  • Ability to plan, execute and maintain environmental systems and programes of the Company Fabric Park (CFP), in keeping with the primary focus of the green environment concept of the CFP.
  • Communication with CFP departments on taking decisions on environmental management issues of the park.
  • Should be able to manage an independent team of employees to accomplish ecological projects of the Park.
  • Should have a thorough scientific and general knowledge and understanding of all tropical and non tropical plants and all types of creatures including mammals, birds, fish, amphibians etc. 
  • Should have a thorough understanding of all international, governmental and general environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • A broad knowledge on environmental standards and certifications specially under ISO 14000 series and practice of such certifications.
  • Should ensure CFP operates and functions under environmentally sustainable manner, with minimum impact to the surrounding environment.
  • Ability to train and teach personnel on environmental management matters.
  • Should be able to work long hours at all company Holdings enterprises including local and overseas locations.
  • Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Company Fabric Park at Thulhiriya on matters pertaining to environmental programs for the overall group
  • Age below 35 years.
  • Should be a dynamic person with willingness to perform active outdoor duties pertaining to ecological management of the park.
  • Should have a thorough understanding of Bio diversity and ecological balance of the environment.
