  • Advise, Draft, review or revise various legal documents including contracts with various suppliers, business partners, software vendors, leases, opinions, letters of demand, Licenses, permits, briefs, memoranda.
  • Render legal advice and opinions to the Senior Management other Divisions of the Company as required.
  • Conduct ongoing legal research and advice in connection with legal issues pertaining to the relationships entered by the Company with external parties.
  • Review, refer and monitor civil claims and potential litigation.
  • Discuss, draft, revise and review company policies for legal content, explain/interpret the policies of the Company and negotiate and resolve significant and controversial issues where applicable/necessary.
  • Represent the Company’s interest at inquiries as required.
  • Review the functions of all departments of the Company for legal content, disseminate pertinent information and advise the Management on the effective handling of issues which could create potential liability during the dispatch of their respective departmental functions.
  • Analyze and review contracts, which bind or obligate the Company; provide legal opinions and recommendations to ensure the Company is properly safeguarded and effectively represented in such matters.
  • Review, respond, and draft correspondence necessary for daily operations of the Company.
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new staff recruited for your division as and when required.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, professional group meetings and related activities; attend workshops, conferences, and classes to increase professional knowledge; serve on committees as assigned; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of law.
  • Draft, analyze, peruse and provide constructive comments on a diverse portfolio of contracts and other relevant documentation.
  • Effectively negotiate with external parties including internationally reputed suppliers;
  • Lead, supervise and guide a team of Legal Officers.
  • Operate modern office equipment including a PC, software and peripherals.

 
  • Above 30-45 years of age
  • At least 5 -7 years prior experience in a similar position
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Sinhala
  • Good PR skills
  • Attorney at Law or LLB
  • Very good analytical skills
